At first meeting there is respect
As conversation flows
Personalities are revealed and reflect
Inner strengths discovered and shows
Our true nature, kindness and sensitivity
This is how I believe love begins
Others then realize our true objectivity
It is what we feel within
A spark, an excitement so strong
Grins and giggles show we care
We all want to belong
We open our spirit with flair
Learning each others commonalities
Our likes, dislikes and morals
In time become realities
Refraining from quarrels
Allowing to become liked
It is within our hearts
No one wants to be disliked
This is how I believe love starts
Slowly a spark a flame ignites
A deepening respect a glow
It soars to many different heights
Over time love does grow
If nourished by kindness and understanding
